Thus, it is safe to say that things are not going to happen the way many people think
they will happen.
But, this book will give you the scriptural keys for truly understanding what God has
preordained will happen, and how you can survive the incredible scenario of prophetic
events about to unfold! |

The Great White Throne
Judgment
An Ipsos poll says that 25 percent of adults believe it is at least somewhat likely that Jesus Christ will return to Earth in 2007 2008. Of white evangelical Christian adults it's 66%. Want to know why Jesus won't come in 2007 2008, before most find out in Jan 1, 2008 2009? »» Read Featured Article
Revelation 20:11-15 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (KJV)
Only the unsaved dead will participate in this final judgment. Those who deliberately and knowingly rejected Christ as Savior during their lifetime will have no hope; they will go to the eternal Lake of Fire. However, those people who never will have received a legitimate and informed opportunity to accept Christ as Saviour will be judged according to their compliance with whatever amount of truth they did attain at every moment of their lives, resulting in eternal life for some, and eternal damnation for others. That is why this passage twice emphasizes that these people will be judged according to their works. Furthermore, this biblical doctrine does not contradict numerous other scriptures which state that Christ is the only mediator between God and man, and that eternal salvation is based solely upon faith in the finished, substitutionary work of Christ Jesus on the cross. (I Tim. 2:4-6) (Eph. 2:8-10) (Titus 3:4-8). But it does mean that God takes cognizance of the stark reality that many people never will have heard and understood the gospel message in their lifetime. Accordingly, the only way for God to determine their true spiritual attitude will be to judge how they will have conducted their lives on earth.
Romans 1:18-20 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (KJV)
Romans 2:10-16 10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. (KJV)
This scriptural passage reaffirms the previous passage. It states that every person, regardless of their time or place in history, will be without excuse to one degree or another on Judgment Day. Because of the clear testimony of the world and the universe — the incredible organized complexity of both the astronomical and biological worlds, and the extraordinary personality of man and his conscience — he will be without excuse. Every person will be judged according to their knowledge of, and consequential compliance with the “truth”; no one will have any basis for complaint on Judgment Day concerning their adjudged fate for eternity.
Acts 17:30-31 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. (KJV)
Luke 12:47-48 47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. (KJV)
John 9:41 41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth. (KJV)
Once again, these scriptural passages confirm that people will be judged according to their degree of conformity with whatever amount of truth they will have attained at every moment of their lives. Those individuals who will have lived a “life of sin” despite their awareness of God’s plan of salvation and His moral laws will be judged more harshly than those who will have lived such a life without any specific knowledge of salvation. Likewise, it should be noted that everyone will be judged according to their “works” and “motives.” This will be true of Christians as well as everyone else. Obviously there will be varying degrees of rewards and punishments for everyone:
II Corinthians 5:10 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. (KJV)
Galatians 6:7-10 7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. (KJV)
Revelation 22:12 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. (KJV)
Matthew 12:35-37 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. (KJV)
John 5:22 22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: (KJV)
I Corinthians 4:5 5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. (KJV)
Romans 14:10-12 10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. (KJV)
Luke 19:12-27 12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
19 And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
21 For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. 22 And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.
25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)
26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. (KJV)
The above parable illustrates the lesson that “worthy” individuals will be rewarded according to the amount of “good” they accomplish based upon both ability and opportunity. In this example, the first two servants had the same amount of ability and range of opportunities because they both had just “one pound” with which to work. Thus, the servant who gained “ten pounds” was rewarded with “ten cities”; likewise, the other servant who gained only “five pounds” was rewarded with only “five cities.” The unprofitable (i.e., wicked) servant, however, was severely punished, and even had his “one pound” taken away.
Matthew 25:14-30 14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (KJV)
This parable approaches the same issue from a different perspective. As stated, one servant started with “five talents,” and then earned an additional five talents. On the other hand, another servant started with only “two talents,” but earned two more talents. So, obviously these two servants accomplished the same amount of good based upon ability and opportunity because they both doubled their number of talents. That explains why they received the exact same reward. The wicked servant, of course, was severely punished.
After Christian believers are resurrected or translated to Heaven, they also will be rewarded according to their works.
I Corinthians 3:8-15 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. (KJV)
So, in conclusion, everyone — without exception — will be judged at one time or another. Christians will be judged by Christ Jesus immediately after the Rapture; the martyred Tribulation Saints will be judged immediately after their resurrection; and the Tribulation Saints who never will be executed by the Antichrist will be rewarded after they are translated to Heaven just before the Return of Christ. Likewise, ordinary people who are still alive on the earth when Christ Returns to establish His Kingdom will be classified as “sheep” or “goats” and dealt with accordingly. Then finally, after the Millennium, all of the “unsaved” dead will be judged at the Great White Throne Judgment. These occasions for judgment are also expounded in the following scriptures:
John 5:25-29 25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. (KJV)
In other words, there are two resurrections narrated in this passage. In the first resurrection portrayed, all who hear the voice of God will live for eternity; that will be the Rapture. Then the next resurrection that is described involves a time when everyone (who is still in the grave after the Millennium is over) will hear the voice of Jesus Christ, our God and Saviour. Some of these people will be judged as having done “good,” and will receive eternal life; the others will be judged as having done “evil,” and will be punished with eternal death and torment. This second resurrection will be the Great White Throne Judgment.
Daniel 12:1-2 1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. (KJV)
This scriptural passage is similar to John 5:25-29. First, there will be a time of trouble during which New Testament saints will be resurrected. Then later, there will be a resurrection in which some people will “awake” to eternal life, and others will awake to “shame and everlasting contempt.” So, obviously this scripture is yet another portrayal of both the Rapture and the Great White Throne Judgment.
The theological expression “Second Death” is a reference to the fate of the unsaved dead who will be judged as evil at the Great White Throne Judgment of God. But many other individuals, who will be judged as good, apparently will have their names recorded in the “Book of Life,” and will enjoy eternal life of an undisclosed nature in the Kingdom of God. Although they will not be a part of the saintly group of believers who will be joint-heirs and rulers with Christ Jesus forever, they will become members of the general populace consisting of ordinary people.
II Timothy 4:1 1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; (KJV)
Another way of expressing the above scriptural statement would be that “people living on the earth will be judged by Christ at His Return, and the dead will be judged by Christ after His Kingdom is established and the Great White Throne Judgment begins.”
